7 Ways to Give Yourself a Mother’s Day Treat
Every year, mothers all over the world get mother’s day gifts from their husbands and children. Sometimes, we even celebrate mother’s day by having our husbands treat us to a love family dinner out. But have you ever thought of giving yourself some mother’s day gifts? Well, I certainly have. And here are some of my ideas on how to make this mom’s day truly a memorable day.
• Sexy underwear – one of my (and my husband’s) favourite mother’s day treats is to buy sexy underwear to make myself feel young and less stressed.
• Staying in bed with a bowl of ice cream and my fave show – it really is a mom’s day when I get to stay in bed, forget about work and chores, and just drown myself with strawberry ice cream while watching Castle. Just pick your sweet and your show then you’re ready to go!
• Reading a book while sipping a cappuccino – one of the things I miss is having time to read my favourite novels in my favourite coffee shop. To celebrate mother’s day, grab your book, visit your local café, and step into another world where worries are far away.
• Have a cocktail – when I became a mom, I forgot all about the joys of cocktails. I rarely had the time to enjoy one. Having a cocktail or two on mother’s day, I’ve found, is a great way to celebrate the joy of motherhood
• Get your beauty fix – because we’re so busy everyday dealing with so many things, we rarely find the time to get our hair done and our nails painted. So a visit to the salon is a great mother’s day treat.
• Bubble bath – this, for me, is the ultimate mother’s day treat. Every day, I make do with a rushed shower because I always lack for time. A bubble bath with a little bit of wine really does wonders for you.
• Buy something for yourself – as moms, we always put our family’s needs and wants first. I rarely find myself buying something that I really want to have. So buying some little trinket or accessory for yourself would be the perfect mother’s day treat.
